Case Study:
New Recruiting Materials Allow Small Firm
to Compete for Top-Level Graduates

Challenge

A professional services firm spent a significant amount of time and money to attract high quality candidates through college-campus recruiting efforts. However, the outdated, homemade recruiting materials were ineffective in demonstrating the firm’s sophisticated practice to a younger, visual generation. Labor market competitors included the four largest international public accounting firms, whose collateral materials were multiple color glossy marketing brochures.

Solution

HR Dallas, LLC was hired to create new recruiting materials to attract top college recruits. HRD researched recruiting materials produced by labor market competitors and gathered the firm’s existing documentation. HRD consultants wrote the text of the brochure, and designed pages so that the firm could produce them in-house (thereby keeping the cost down). A graphic artist and off-set printer were retained to design and print the covers of the brochure.

Result

The firm has a recruiting brochure that educates potential candidates about the firm’s business and markets the firm as an attractive employer. The use of a graphic artist and off-set printer for the brochure covers resulted in a professional piece that is attractive to the target market. Producing parts of the brochure in-house allowed the firm to control costs and provided an efficient process to update the materials.
